It's time for the United Way cake auction
The 28th annual United Way of Hocking County Campaign Dinner and Cake Auction is set for Tuesday, Aug. 27, at 6 p.m. The event will be held at the Olde Dutch Restaurant located at 12791 state Route 664 South.
According to John Shaben, executive director of the United Way of Hocking County, Clyde Beougher, local auctioneer, will be returning again this year to run the cake auction.
“We are excited to have Clyde back as our auctioneer. He works to provide an entertaining experience for guests and is a United Way supporter through sponsoring various aspects of the event. We truly appreciate Clyde and his team for contributing to the consistent success of this event,” said Shaben.
The event will kick-off with entertainment provided by the Hocking County Children’s Chorus, under the direction of Therese Karnes, followed by a buffet dinner, brief program and cake auction. United Way of Hocking County helps to support 13 local agencies and organizations that provide valuable safety net services and educational opportunities for local residents. “This fundraiser is such an important contributor of fundraising dollars we need to allocate to our community partners. By attending this event you are helping us in our ]ght to end hunger, provide disaster relief and so much more, all through our partner agencies,” Shaben explained. There is a fee to attend the event or supporters can choose to sponsor a table for eight guests.
