Children's Chorus to perform at Ebenezer Baptist Church

The Hocking County Children’s Chorus will present its annual Christmas Concert this Sunday, Dec. 15 at 3 p.m. at Ebenezer Baptist Church. Music will include holiday favorites, pieces from around the world, and a few new surprises.

This is the 40th year for the HCCC, the fifth year for current Director Therese Karnes

“It is exciting to see the growth in the children.... both in their musical skills as well as their relationships with each other. Shy second graders in August that barely spoke out are now doing solo singing and playing percussion instruments,” said Karnes.

In addition to choral pieces, the Chorus will have a few musical selections with their Choirchimes — musical instruments rung by hand, similar to handbells. Take some time out of your hectic Christmas preparations to come listen to the beautiful sounds of the season with these talented young people!

The Hocking County Children’s Chorus is made up of over 70 children from all over Hocking County in grades two through high school. After their busy Christmas season, the children will focus on their upcoming musical production of Disney’s “Frozen Jr.” on Feb. 1 and 2 at the Logan High School Theatre.
